This is true to myself. I’ve spent years talking about building. Years saying I’m going to do X, Y, Z. Then nothing came of it other than a few domain names, social media accounts, and maybe some business cards.
The challenge in doing anything is the passion for it has to be a fire that is unstoppable.
The thing that I’ve never truly accepted is that very few people truly try. Swinging at something is one thing. Swinging at something that if you fail, you will fail big and everyone will know, yeah – very few will do that.
Think of it like this. How many people swung at that big idea? The 0 to 1 people. The Steve Jobs of the world. The answer = about 0.00006% of the world population has created a unicorn company.
That to me is a failure of our society. There should be more. We should all be creating and not holding ourselves back. Imagine how beautiful things could be if everyone’s deepest dreams and ideas could come into reality and everyone benefits from it.
Henry David Thoreau was and is right – “The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation.”
The majority of people don’t swing. They don’t become apart of the 1% let alone the 0.01%.
I will not have it anymore. I will not live a life were I didn’t swing at the big ideas. Fail I may. But I will die knowing I gave everything. I never let my gifts given to me rest. If you’re reading this, I ask you to do the same.
